What I collect

The quote form asks for your name, a mobile number, your town or the first three characters of your postal code, what you want painted, a few lines about the job, and, if you like, an email address and some photos. That is the whole list. There is no account to create and nothing to sign up for.

If you call or text instead, my phone keeps your number and the messages, the same as any phone would. If you email, the email sits in my inbox.

Why I ask for it

One reason: so I can reply and put a quote together. Your number is how I reach you. Your town tells me whether you are inside the area I cover and how to plan the walkthrough. Photos let me quote small jobs without a visit. The email address is only there for people who would rather hear from me that way.

I do not use any of it for anything else. No marketing, no profiling, no passing it along.

Who sees it

Me. The form hands your request to a form service, which delivers it to my email inbox, a Gmail account run by Google, and it shows up on my phone. That service may hold a copy for a short time so the message can get through.

I do not sell your details, rent them, trade them or share them with anyone: not lead sellers, not paint suppliers, not other trades. If a job needs a second set of hands, the person helping me gets the address and the job details for that day and nothing more. If the law ever requires me to hand something over, I hand over only what is required.

How long I keep it

If I do not end up painting for you, I delete your request once the quote is closed: you have said no, or the season has passed and I have not heard back. If you would rather it went sooner, ask and it is gone.

If I do paint for you, I keep the quote, the agreement and the invoice, because those are my business records. Photos of your home are personal information too, and I treat them the same way as everything else on this page.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies and runs no advertising trackers. Right now it uses no analytics service at all. If I add one later so I can count visits and see whether the site is doing its job, I will name it on this page and say what it records.

Opening a page sends nothing to anyone else. The fonts live on this site, and there are no embedded maps, videos or social buttons. The company that hosts the site keeps ordinary server logs (your IP address, the page you asked for, the time) for its own security; I do not use them to identify anyone.

No mailing list

Sending a quote request does not sign you up for anything, because there is nothing to sign up for. I do not send newsletters, seasonal offers or reminders. The only messages you will get from me are about your quote or your job.

If you would rather I stopped following up, reply “stop” or just tell me, and that is the end of it.

Seeing, fixing or deleting your details

Email paintplusbyhouston@gmail.com from the address you used, or text me from the number you gave, and ask for any of these:

• A copy of what I hold about you
• A correction, if something is wrong
• Deletion of the lot

I will do it and confirm back to you. There is no form to fill in and no fee. If you are not happy with how I have handled it, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Keeping it safe

This website stores nothing itself; it is a set of plain pages. Your request goes to my inbox and my phone, and I keep both locked. Nothing about you is stored on the site.

Changes to this notice

If the way I handle your details changes, I will update this page and the date below. I will not apply new rules to something you have already sent me without telling you first.
