Halton, the GTA and Hamilton. That’s the regular range. If your town isn’t named on this page and it’s a reasonable drive, ask; I’ll come and look.
A reasonable drive, not a line on a map
I’m based in Halton and work across the Greater Toronto Area. The towns on this page are the ones I can get to early and get back from at the end of the day, which is what matters on a paint job: I need to be there first thing, and I need to be there again tomorrow.
Distance matters less than the job. A whole interior or a full exterior is worth a longer drive. One feature wall an hour away usually isn’t, and I’d rather tell you that on the phone than quote it badly.
Exterior work runs roughly May to October in this part of Ontario. Interior and cabinet work carries on all year, so a winter enquiry from anywhere on this page is a good one.
Wherever the house is, the job runs the same way: a free walkthrough, a written quote, drop sheets down, clean edges, and a walk round together at the end.
Town by town
What the houses are like in each place and the kind of work that comes with them. General notes, not a job list.
Oakville
Older homes near the water in Old Oakville and Bronte, and big two-storey subdivisions north of Dundas Street. Two-storey foyers and stairwells, a lot of trim and doors, and kitchens where the cabinets are sound but the colour is dated. Ceiling height and access shape a quote here more than square footage does.
Burlington
Post-war streets south of the QEW, larger subdivisions from the ’80s to the 2000s north of it, and a run of older homes near the lake. What that usually means for paint: whole-interior repaints before a sale, ’90s oak kitchens sprayed a lighter colour, and trim, garage doors and front doors outside.
Milton & Halton Hills
Georgetown · Acton
Most of Milton went up after 2000, so a lot of the work is the first proper repaint after the builder’s coat: flat paint that scuffs, feature walls, and basements being finished. The old cores are a different story: Milton’s Main Street, and Georgetown and Acton over in Halton Hills, have century homes that need the same care as Hamilton’s.
Mississauga
Post-war bungalows in Port Credit and Lakeview, the subdivisions that filled in Erin Mills, Meadowvale and Churchill Meadows from the ’80s on, and a lot of condo interiors. Usually it’s the first real repaint after the builder’s coat: flat paint that marks if you look at it, oak trim and railings people want painted out, and a whole-interior refresh before a sale.
Toronto & the wider GTA
Etobicoke · North York · Scarborough · Brampton · Vaughan · Markham
Semis and row houses in the old city with plaster walls and decades of paint on the trim, post-war bungalows out through Etobicoke and Scarborough, and condos closer in. Narrow stairwells, high foyers and tight access shape the job more than floor area does, and the prep on old trim is most of the work.
Hamilton
The Mountain · Westdale · Ancaster · Dundas · Waterdown · Stoney Creek
Century brick in the lower city, post-war bungalows and split-levels up the Mountain, 1920s and ’30s houses in Westdale, and the old village cores of Dundas and Ancaster with newer streets around them. Old plaster and layers of paint mean more prep: cracks filled, trim sanded, everything primed before colour goes on. Outside, it’s wood trim and porches, which is where an exterior starts to peel first.

- Ask anyway. The villages and rural roads between the towns above are usually fine.
- Put your town or the first three characters of your postal code in the quote form. I’ll say yes or no within one business day.
- For a small job a long way off, I’ll tell you straight if it doesn’t make sense, and suggest a photo quote first so nobody wastes a trip.
- A bigger job, a whole interior or a full exterior, is worth a longer drive.
How far I travel
- The regular range is Halton, the GTA and Hamilton.
- Beyond that, a reasonable drive: close enough to start early and be back the next morning without the day disappearing on the 401.
- I don’t take jobs I can’t be on site for. If the drive means I can’t give you the same days I’d give a neighbour, I’ll say so before I quote.
- Exterior work runs roughly May to October; interior and cabinets all year.
